Saturday, April 25, 2009

Can a picture paint a thousand…lyrics? It sure can lead to P2 million on the buzzing third season of “The Singing Bee,” starting this Saturday (Apr 25) on ABS-CBN.

Host Cesar “Buboy” Montano, the Bandble Bee, the Honeybees and the Song Bees Frenchie Dy, Apple Chiu, MC Castro, OJ Mariano, and Michael Cruz are up with exciting new treats and gimmicks for the show’s fans, after a smashing 1st year anniversary episode last Sunday (Apr 19).

The third season levels up the entertainment with a new round called “Pics BEE With You,” which will surely be a new favorite among the viewers. There will also be a few improvements in the game mechanics to heighten the suspense especially on “The Final Countdown” round, where a team can still win P2 million after correctly guessing the lyrics to four of the seven songs to be played.

So far, only Team Pieta, composed of Jestoni Alarcon, Jason Abalos, and Janus Del Prado, has won P2 million since the program shifted to team format in January. Previous individual millionaires include celebrities Rachel Alejandro, Aiza Seguerra, and Manilyn Reynes, and regular player Steno Padilla.

Buboy, meanwhile, expressed happiness over the success of his award-winning game show. “Seasons one and two gave us very memorable moments. For season three, we promise to triple our effort as a way to thank our viewers for their amazing support for the show,” said Cesar, who’s set to showcase his vocal prowess more this season.

The Singing Bee” takes pride of performing well against different competition since it began as a primetime and weekday program last year. “Filipinos love for singing is a big plus for us. But what sets us apart is the passion of our people. You can really see we’re all having fun even from the television,” Cesar said.

Find out the other must-see surprises on “The Singing Bee Season 3,” starting this Saturday (Apr 25) after “Komiks Presents: Flash Bomba” and Sunday (Apr 26) after “Goin’ Bulilit,” only on ABS-CBN.
