As the rains keep pouring, top movie cable channel Cinema One likewise showers everybody with laughter when it features the iconic sitcom turned mega-hit Iskul Bukol 20 Years After on Blockbuster Sundays this August 2 at 8:00 pm!

Iskul Bukol (20 Years After) is the cinematic reunion of iconic comic trio Tito Vic and Joey and the movie metamorphosis of the famous sitcom Iskul Bukol which aired over IBC Channel 13 from 1978 to 1990 every Saturday evening. Spoofing Elvis Presley’s All Shook Up, sung by Vic Sotto is the sitcom’s intro song for Iskul Bukol which became the jumpboard where its characters and players became famous, garnered recall and spawned successful careers for its cast. There was Miss Tapia (Mely Tagasa), with her pa-sosyal sister Kukang. The late Bing Angeles was Mang Temi (Bing Angeles), the dark skinned cafeteria owner with loyal ward and busboy Redford (Redford White). Tonette Macho (Anthony Roquel), the gay student who always befriends the fairest girl in class. (Mary) Mary Masab is the college sweetheart who was later replaced by Joey Anson (Joey Albert). Bibeth (Bibeth Orteza) is Vic’s noisy roommate. Ritchie D’ Horsie (Richard Reyes) is the fellow student who always waits for the university’s dismissal bell.

This time becoming a comedy-adventure, Iskul Bukol (After 20 Years) screenplayed by Bibeth Orteza and directed by Tony Reyes who frequently helmed hit comedies of Vic Sotto (Ang Kuya Kong Siga, Bakit Ba Ganyan, Biyudo sa Daddy Biyuda sa Mommy) places the famous alumnus of Wanbol University to work together to solve an important mystery. The infamously boastful Escalera Brothers (Tito and Joey) reunite with now archeologist Victorio Ungassis (Vic) to search for a strange and powerful peseta, one of the 30 silver coins remunerated to Judas Escariot for Jesus Christ’s betrayal. Legend has it that it can empower its finder and bearer with immortality. While the main cast reprise their role from the sitcom, this Metro Manila 2008 contender has special appearances of big stars that add to its colour and comedic appeal like Sharon Cuneta, Ryan Agoncillo, Robert Villar, Carlene Aguilar, Francine Prieto, Gian Sotto, Oyo Boy Sotto, Keempee de Leon, Ciara Sotto, EB Babes, Benjie Paras, Jose Manalo, and Jacky Woo.

Treat your Sunday summer nights with loads of laughter when Iskul Bukol 20 Years After premieres on Cinema One’s Blockbuster Sunday, August 2 at 8:00 pm! Available on SkyCable Gold, SkyCable Silver and other quality cable operators nationwide.
