MOCHA: SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

The Mocha Girls have proven, again, that they do posses the “X” factor!

It was a night of wild-fantasies-come-to-life as MAXIM’s April cover girl Mocha took center stage for her autograph signing party held at the Taboo Bar, Ortigas last Friday (April 17).

Mocha, together with her precious gals Hershey, Bez, and Grace, brought the house down with their endearing, sassy, and sexy performances that made the gentlemen, and even the ladies, scream for more! Hosted by MAXIM sex-and-relationship columnist Krista Ranillo, the party was hyped with hot games and fierce performances from the Mocha Girls.

The audience was treated to a provocative lap dance number in which Kevin Ranillo, brother of Krista, and two other men were hand-cuffed to the tune of the Spice Girls’ “2 Become 1.” Their performance of Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” really did mean something to Hershey and Mocha as they surprised the crowd, again, with their signature lip-lock.

Actor Joross Gamboa was also present at the party to congratulate co-star Mocha for the success of MAXIM. Joross and the Mocha Girls can be seen on the big screen in the thriller flick, Sumpa.

After the show came the autograph signing, where dozens of men lined up to take pictures and get signatures from the Mocha Girls. “The Mocha Girls were hot…the show was hot…perfect!” exclaimed a fan after getting his MAXIM April issue signed by Mocha.

Grab your own copy of the first gay and lesbian issue of MAXIM magazine and see Mocha and her girls strut their stuff in the pages of MAXIM, the best-selling men's lifestyle magazine in the world!

Sizzling hot Mocha on Maxim April Issue

Monday, April 27, 2009

MAXIM Philippines shakes up the men’s magazine’s genre this month with a first ever Gay & Lesbian Issue, with controversial singer Mocha on the cover. Mocha, frontwoman of the Mocha Girls and a self-confessed bisexual, is totally naked on the cover, flanked by one of the members of the Mocha Girls, Hershey, also naked and covering Mocha’s groin with her hand. Since joining the magazine as a photo blogger in February, Mocha has provided MAXIM with plenty of monthly sizzle with pictures of her making out with a series of attractive females.

In the magazine’s most provocative cover shoot ever, Mocha evokes lesbianism and sado-masochism as she is joined by her girl group, which also include Bez and Grace. Boy Abunda leads the issue’s centerpiece feature, “Gays’ Night Out At Classmate,” in which Boy and four other prominent gay men hold a roundtable discussion of gay issues inside a VIP room of Classmate, the preeminent gentleman’s club—in the company of sexy GROs (guest relations officers) and a stripper. Writer and gay activist Danton Remoto, fashion designer Puey QuiƱones, Magic 89.9 deejay Mojo Jojo, and magazine editor Carlo Tadiar join Boy, the host of The Buzz and Showbiz News Ngayon, in this not-so-private conversation about homosexuality in the Philippines.

MAXIM begins the collection of articles on gays and lesbians with a mock cover featuring another controversial celebrity, Binibini Gandanghari, the artist formerly known as Rustom Padilla. In lieu of a proper interview, MAXIM addresses the country’s most famous transgendered person in an open letter that is humorous, heartfelt and compassionate.

Other eye-popping pictorials feature World Wrestling Entertainment diva Eve, theater and film actress Angeli Bayani and the amazing tandem of MAXIM babes Tracy Torres and Mellow Johnson.

Other major features in the issue are a nostalgia piece on Bagets, the classic youth movie that marks its 25th anniversary this year, and a pre-fight analysis of the much-anticipated Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight.

“THE COMPANY” HEATS UP THE AIRWAVES WITH NEW DZMM SUMMER JINGLE

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

The Philippines’ premier vocal ensemble recently made a leap from the FM to the AM band via DZMM Radyo Patrol 630.

Moy, Ces Jay, Sweet, and Anne of The CompanY are the featured voices in the sizzling new summer jingle from ABS-CBN’s flagship AM radio station.

DZMM debuted the jingle last 5 April via the program “Music and Memories,” anchored by Boots Anson-Roa and Willy Nepomuceno.

With a summer and fiesta feel, the tune is able to maximize the unique vocal prowess of “The CompanY,” showing why the group remains a hit even after almost 20 years in the music industry.

According to ABS-CBN Manila Radio Division head Peter Musngi, the jingle is a rearranged version of DZMM’s popular station ID.

“It has been a DZMM tradition to invite notable OPM artists to give their own rendition of our jingle. Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, and Charice Pempengco all lent their voices before. This year, we’re proud to have “The CompanY” give their own twist to the station ID,” he said.

The new DZMM summer jingle, arranged by Marc Lopez and Moy Ortiz, can now be heard over DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and DZMM TeleRadyo on Skycable channel 26 on an hourly basis.

“THE CORRESPONDENTS” REDISCOVERS FORGOTTEN PARADISE

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

With pristine beaches and virgin rainforests, the remote town of Palanan can very well be a first-on-the-list destination for vacationers and nature-lovers. However, with the lack of roads attaching it to the province of Isabela, the “Last Stand of the First Philippine Republic” remains unknown to many Filipinos.

This Tuesday (Apr 21), guest correspondent Dominic Almelor rediscovers the forgotten paradise of Palanan, which has been trapped in obscurity since being known as the hideout of then Philippine President Emilio Aguinaldo during the time of the Americans.

Surrounded by the mountains of Sierra Madre and the waters of the Pacific Ocean, Palanan can only be reached by boat or via a small plane. It’s this isolation which has made it hard for people to get there, as well as technology.

Up to this day, residents move around the town only on motorcycles, tricycles, or horses. Romeo Donato, a Palanan native, even had to fly out to Isabela to get proper medical attention for his rare illness.

Dominic will find out what future lies ahead for the people of Palanan and if there’s still hope that roads can be constructed to connect it to the rest of Isabela.

Join Dominic Almelor on his adventure to Palanan’s forgotten paradise this Tuesday (Apr 21) on “The Correspondents,” right after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN.
